This publication is authored by Dr Julian Rodrigues FRACP, Neurologist and Clinical research Fellow Australian Neuromuscular Research Institute Nedlands, Western Australia and is endorsed by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Its main aims include; improving early recognition of Parkinson’s Diseases, emphasising the individual nature, encouraging early specialist referral and outlining disease-stage appropriate management plans to improve patient outcomes while understanding and highlighting GP’s role in diagnosis and management.
These manuals are highly recommended for health professionals working in the relevant fields.

Online education: General Practioners Guide to Parkinson's Disease
The Parkinson's Rural and Remote GPs Education Program provides medical practitioners and health professionals across Australia with information, reources and best practice guidelines on Parkinson's Disease.
The program will allow medical practitioners and health professionals to easily access information on Parkinson's disease, risk factors, protective factors, tools for diagnosis, best practice guidelines, information for treatment, decision making, information on treatment of psychosocial factors including depression and anxiety, information for patients and information on referral and community resources such as support groups and allied health professionals.
The course is free and is designed to be user-friendly. There is a Resource Sections which features expert opinions and videos highlighting aspects of Parkinson's Treatment.
Medical Practitioners and health professionals can earn continuing edication points by completeing sections of the course.
