- SINEMET CR - National Shortage -
Australia will experience a significant shortage in the supply of SINEMET CR 200/50mg (pink tablet) for approximately one year - starting in early 2010 and continuing into 2011.
Supplies of immediate release formulation of SINEMET - SINEMET 100/25mg (yellow) and SINEMET 250/25mg (blue) are not expected to be affected by the shortage of SINEMET CR.
Notice of this shortage is being communicated to neurologists, geriatricians and general practitioners, who are being asked to review all patients currently on SINEMET CR.
To help with the process we recommend making contact with your specialist or GP to help determine the appropriateness of alternative treatments during this shortage.
Please be assured that this shortage does not relate to a product quality or safety issue but is merely due to a change in the source of supply.
