Volunteers
Founded more than twenty-five years ago, Parkinson's Western Australia is a self help, non-profit organisation which has traditionally had a strong volunteer base as the core of its operation.
Volunteer of the Year 2009
Joy become the Mandurah Support Group Leader two years ago, after having been involved with the group for many years. Joy is a very energetic leader who runs an excellent meeting. She is very dedicated to developing the role and her personal touch has resulted in a fun and welcoming support group for all who attend.
Our congratulations to Joy on her much deserved award.
Volunteers assist in a variety of activities as follows:
- Fund raising - Assisting with street stalls, street appeals, quiz nights, major raffles and seeking sponsorship
- Leading a Support Group
- General office work including:
Photocopying the newsletter
Writing newsletter articles
Packing and posting our bi-monthly newsletter.
If you are able to help, please contact us. It is not necessary to make a large commitment of your time. We can provide training if required.
