A Walk In The Park 2018 Success

Posted on: 27 September 2018

We have had our best year yet, with over 1000 people uniting to take part in the 2km and 5km walks, to increase the awareness of Parkinson’s in Western Australia.

Hundreds of people registered on the day, with many wearing our new blue t-shirts. It was great to see a sea of blue on the walk course, knowing each one had fundraised over $50 for Parkinson’s WA!

The MC, Cam Pollock got the crowd excited for the 2km and 5km walks, along with a sing-a-long from Jo our Parkinsong teacher, a warm up by Ausdance WA and the explosive Wasamba Drummers who kicked off the walk.

We couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere on the day. We were blessed with beautiful spring weather, making it a perfect day for walking and enjoying time with family and friends.

The fun didn’t end once the walk was over! The colourful and loud Wasamba Drummers were back with an energetic performance, followed by the Flamenco dancers from Casa Del Compas Spanish School.

We absolutely wouldn’t have had such a successful day without our 49 volunteers. As well as all the Parkinson’s WA staff, Board Members and family members.

Again, a big thank you to our sponsors:
